How do I get rid of the sound made when a keystroke-assigned macro is played
back? Thanks.

It's probably somewhere in the Windows sound scheme, at the bottom.
Find the sound assigned to that Visual Studio action, and set it to "none".

If you mean ControlPanel\Sounds ... that's the first place I went. The only
sounds for DevStudio listed there are for breakpoints and builds (and those are
listed four times each!).

However, I recognized the sound as the "balloon" sound which was assigned to
"System notification". Unassigning "System notification" did the trick (and I
don't think I'll miss the balloon sound elsewhere).
